An editorial workflow to try with your own material. This guide does not claim results from a Perkufo product test.
Start with a useful moment
Choose a recording you own or have permission to edit. Watch it once and mark moments where one clear question gets an answer. A complete explanation is a better starting point than an isolated dramatic sentence. Write down the context a new viewer would need.
Give each clip one job
Make the first clip answer a common question. Use the second to demonstrate a specific step. Let the third explain a mistake and how to avoid it. These are three editorial angles, not a requirement to cut every recording into three parts. If there is only one useful moment, publish one good clip.
Keep the meaning intact
Trim pauses and repetition, but listen to the sentence before and after each cut. Preserve qualifications that change the advice. If a speaker says a result depends on a particular situation, that condition belongs in the short version too. Add a short introduction when the original refers to something the viewer cannot see.
Design for a small screen
Keep the subject visible when cropping vertically. Put captions where interface buttons are less likely to cover them, and inspect the final file on the platform you intend to use. Captions should be readable against both light and dark parts of the footage.
Review the export
Watch the entire exported video, with sound and then without it. Check names, numbers, cuts and the last frame. Tools can suggest moments and generate captions; you still decide whether the finished clip communicates something useful. Save the original recording so you can revise the edit later.
